World Record Update

Posted by admin | July 25, 2009 |
UPDATE: You did it! Congratulations to all 65,000 PokerStars players that helped set a new Guinness World Record for the ‘Largest Online Poker Tournament’. PokerStars set the previous record of 35,000 in December 2008, and this attempt smashed that record, setting the new mark of 65,000.

Players from 155 countries took part in the $1 buy-in event that took place on Sunday July 19. A huge 16,250 players were paid, and the tournament was won by 004 license, who scooped $13,000 in first place prize money. The attempt is now being officially verified by Guinness World Records and will be in the record books soon. We’d like to thank all of our players who made it possible - we couldn’t have done it without you
